Looking into the Eye of Doom, The Diary of a Greek Soldier in Troy

In contrast to Homer’s The Illiad, the fictional narrator here is a common Greek farmer who is assured the Trojan War will be of short duration, and that the looted wealth will make him a rich man. After more than a decade of fighting, he wants only to return home alive.
